Black Country Run 2015

Huge congratulations and thank you to everyone who took part in the Black Country Run events in 2015. Well over 1100 runners from all over the country took to the streets of Halesowen in July with more than 100 volunteers also helping to make the event run smoothly.

The Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Steve Waltho, officially started the 10k Race with local fundraising legend Blind Dave Heeley dressed as one of the three blind mice joining hundreds of runners on the first event of the day. The Mayor and his wife then stoically donned their trainers to take part in the 5k family Fun Run and helped raise lots of money for various charities and good causes.

We are indeed very proud to announce that a total of £23,000 was raised by runners last year bringing the total amount now raised for charity since the inaugural event in 2012 to an incredible £77,000. Well done to all of our runners for helping to make a difference to people’s lives.
